4th Annual Small Business Resource Fair
at Madison Square Garden in NEW YORK CITY.

The Greater
New York Chamber of Commerce ,hosted the 4th Annual Greater New York Small
Business Resource Fair on December 2nd 2005 at Madison Square Garden in
NEW YORK CITY.
The Fair started with a VIP Breakfast, keynoted by US Congresswoman Nydia
Velazquez, ranking member of the congressional small business committee.
The Congresswoman and NYC Comptroller William Thompson officially opened
the Fair at 9AM with a report on the importance of small business.
Other highlights included; a noon keynote forum on “Overcoming
Small Business Challenges” with Sandra Gunner, President and CEO
of the New Orleans Chamber of Commerce and Albert Capsouto, Owner of Capsouto
Freres Restaurant, which Survived 9/11.
In addition; there were 64 vendors on hand to provide free information,
assistance and seminars. Seminars included; “Entrepreneurial Success
& Franchise Opportunities” by John Bello (Jerry Seinfeld’s
“Soupman”), Founder SoBE Beverages and President Soupman International,
“Tax Compliance Made Easy” by the IRS, “A Technology
Forum” by M5 Telephone Systems, and USPS.COM, “Small Business
Financing” by North Fork Bank and “Watching High Energy Costs..Power
Your Way” by Con Ed & the NY Public Service Commission.
Also featured were an “E-Bay Consultation Center” sponsored
by the US Postal Service, to help home based businesses, as well as free
consultations to all attendees who wanted to complete NYC Minority/Women
Owned Business Certifications or banking loan applications on the spot.
The Fair closed with a special drawing held to support the New Orleans
Chamber of Commerce in its efforts to rebuild and revitalize the Gulf
Coast Area devastated by Hurricane Katrina. Prizes were generously donated
from; fortune 500 hundred companies and chamber members
