Int’l Beauty ShowApr. 25-27, 2004Jacob K. Javits Convention Center New York, NYIt was incredible. From April 25 through April 27th, The International Beauty Show for beauty field-professionals [only], which is both the largest and longest running beauty show anywhere in the world, took the Javits center by storm (a storm which did not ruin the hairstyles of the attendees), featuring none other than the world’s finest beauty manufacturers, all of which gathered to showcase the latest in new products, innovative technology, services and education. The many participants who were there included those from beauty product manufacturers and distributors, salan and spa owners, managers, hair stylists, hair colorists, estheticians, makeup artists, nail technicians, dermatologists, and massage therapists. This annual event was co-located with the third annual American Spa Expo & Skincare Congress, featured more than 500 exhibitors from the beauty industry, including Redken, Paul Mitchell Systems, the Petrucelli Group, and more. For a show with an admission price tag of under $100. , it offered much in the way of displays, opportunities to learn about the latest styles, hair design techniques, and so much more. Those who attended had he opportunity to see some of the best designers in action at the show, including Charlie Morris Price Planet Salon, Scott Cole, LindaYodice, Robert CromeansandStephanie Kocielski, from JPMS, Kene Franklyn from Matrix, and more, all whom were featured on the Fuse Main Stage. There was even a guest performance by Justen M. Brosnan, the theatrical hair and makeup artist from the Broadway hit “Hairspray.” The American Spa Expo & Skincare Congress offered lots of cool educational seminars, all included with the cost of admission, on a diversity of topics, like Business Building, Revenue Boosting and Medical Treatments. There was even a keynote by Elliott Ettenberg, the author of “The Next Economy.” Among the companies that were at the International Beauty Show, including Amber products, the most potent vitamin Vitamin C. delivery system, CPT Technologies, manufacturer of an innovative Botox skin-nourishing, Dermanew, manufacturer of a revolutionary microdermabrasion and skincare system developed for acne-prone and oily skin, G.M. Collin Skin Care, manufacturer of an intensive exfoliating gel powered by enzymatic and chemical actions to brighten, tone and hydrate the skin, La Fleur, a multi-purpose specialty collagen cream, NC-35, used to diminish fine and deep lines, discoloration, dark circles, brown spots and scarring on the skin. The American Spa Expo was highlighted by a number of companies, including “Take a Dip”, which features new ways of using paraffin to reduce pain and stiffness in joints and encourage faster recovery from sports injuries, “Under the Sun”, which showed how those who are dark-skinned can protect their skin from the sun’s harsh rays, “Naturally Correct”, which demonstrated how formaldehyde can strengthen nails by protecting their keratin protein strands. This sold-out event drew people by the thousands from everywhere. Why not? It is the largest show of its kind.
