Three Kings Celebration
Throughout New York

January 6th 2006.

000La Navidad- La Navidad (December 24 to January 6th) is a holiday that encompasses four significant days. The first being Christmas eve, the second Christmas, the third New Years, and most important Three Kings Day/Los Tres Reyes Magos. Three Kings Day is a celebration of the kings deliverance of the gift to Jesus on January 6th. The Children of Puerto Rico and all throughout Latin America celebrate this day by with songs and dancing. The night before Three Kings day, children through out Latin America leave out a box of Hay and a bowl of water underneath their beds. They do this for the Camels that the Three Kings travel on. As a thank you for providing the hay and the water the Three Kings leave gifts for the children. When the children wake up the next day they find some toys underneath their bed.

On Jan 5th 2006,Mayor Bloomberg Invited close to 300 people at Gracie Mansion,to celebrate the three kings celebration,he spoke in broken Spanish and the Hispanic guests encouraged him to speak in Spanish,and the mayor also went onto to say that he is learning to speak Spanish.He went onto to praise the Hispanic Community for their contribution to the New York Community,and he also asked everybody to march in the three kings event parade which took palce at the El-Barrio in Harlem.

On Jan 6th 2006,LISTA organized the Three Kings event at the Show Nightclub,here in NY,close to 400 hundred people attended to celebrate this wonderful event.
Michael Barrera,the President and CEO, of The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce was the Guest speaker.Newly elected Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer,thanked all the Hispanic business leaders in attendance and thanked them for having celebrated the event in Manhattan.Congresswoman Nydia Velasquez won ,The Government advocate Award 2006,Businessman Tonio Burgos won the Lifetime Achiever Award 2006.After the awards ceremony people drank ate and danced the evening away.
