The Bronx Ball, Walk of Fame Gala
At Orchard Beach, Bronx NY
Jun 23, 2006

Considered the premier black-tie affair of the Bronx, The Bronx Ball was hosted by Borough President Adolfo Carrion, Jr. and the Bronx Tourism Council to benefit tourism development in the borough.  The high-energy celebration bought  together the borough's "Who's Who" to welcome home the individuals being inducted into the Bronx Walk of Fame.

Held under a beautiful, huge white tent at Orchard Beach, the awards show was  taped at the red carpet for later airing.  In addition to toasting the accomplishments of this year's Bronx Walk of Fame inductees, the Bronx Ball also  featured  a posthumous tribute to legendary musician and Bronx Walk of Famer Ray Barretto.

The welcome home celebration for these famous sons and daughters of the Bronx when Borough President Adolfo Carrion, Jr. unveiled  their permanent street signs at this traditional Bronx Week ceremony: Legendary Broadway Producer of 41 Tony-Winning Shows Manny Azenberg; The Godfather of Hip Hop Afrika Bambaataa; Best selling author & Queen of Suspense Mary Higgins Clark; Football Hall of Famer Art Donovan; Grammy-Nominated Percussionist Bobby Sanabria; and Veteran Newscaster & TV Personality Tony Guida.

Adolfo Carrion, Jr the Bronx Boro President went on to say, Each year we come together to honor Sons and daughters of the Bronx on the eve of their induction to the Bronx Walk of Fame.
