Intima
is to lingerie as what the New York Auto Show is to cars. Every kind of
lingerie one can "conceive" (imagine) was present at the show.
The show was highlighted by guest speakers Rita Nakouzi, Promostyle Senior Trend Consultant; Donna Wolff, Divisional Merchandise Manager for Intimate Apparel and Hosiery at Bloomingdale’s; Silvia Harven, Vice President of Design at Sara Lee Branded Apparel; Kim Rawlings, Editor of Contours Magazine; Steven Chernoff, Director of Rago Shapeware; Eric Hertz, Director of Executive Studies at Fashion Institute of Technology; and Mercedes R. Gonzalez, Director of The Global Purchasing Group, Inc.
This show is currently the most comprehensive show in America, with a wide array of products - lingerie, sleepwear, loungewear, swimwear, beachwear, activewear, available in plus-sizes, maternity, hosiery, accessories, textiles & trim.
Ms. Wolff presented a seminar entitled “New State of Business: Servicing the Customer,” while Mercedes Gonzalez lead a seminar presentation on “Creating the Ultimate Sales Team” on August 3. Also Training techniques were offered to assist companies in educating staff on how to give excellent customer service through product and industry knowledge. Rita Nakouzi, of Promostyle, presented the always popular and informative seminar on “Lingerie and Swimwear Trends Spring/Summer 2005.”
A hot new Australian designer, Nicki Adamo, unveiled her Julianne collection--"Boudoire Iinspiration".
Exhibitors included Adamo Fashions Pty., Ltd., Baby Chic, Caffarena Hosiery & Bodywear, D&D Corporation, Danyah's Secrets, Elly Stockings & Tights, Femina Intimates, HANRO, Intimates by Flora, Jacques Levine, KayAnna, Inc., La Cera, Magic Lingerie International, Pte. Ltd., Natural Bra, Omniapiega, Pack Happy, RAPZ Swimwear Accessories, Tagliola House, Under Construction, Van Tisse, Inc., Wicking J. Sleepwear and more.
The fashion show consisted of several scenes, including “Undercover Agents,” “A Bit of Lace,” “Pop Art,” “The Sun and the Sea,” “Pajama Party,” “China Doll,” “Ooh La La,” and “Ultimate Illusions.”
The show was very professionally organized and set up, and is growing
bigger and bigger each year. The Murphy Group, a Fashion Production Company
based in Atlanta, GA, headed by President Jean Brooks-Murphy, handled the
fashion portion of the show. We at Liberty News Online would like to thank
Ms. Carol M. Bigman, the consultant for the Intima-America fashion show,
and Elly Ahn-McCloud, Trade Fair Manager for Messe Frankfurt, Inc., for
assisting us in sourcing the information for our writings. Anyone who is
