TThe Mission of the American Ireland Fund is to be the largest network of people of Irish ancestry and friends of Ireland dedicated to raising funds to support constructive change throughout Ireland, North and South.Since its founding in 1976,The Ireland Funds have raised over $270 million for over 1,000 charities throughout the island.Today,The Ireland Funds are active in 11 countries around the world and,on an annual basis,hold more than 70 events in 39 cities attended by over 40,000 people.

Educating and Integrating is the Theme of this years, Dinner.Peace has been achieved in Northern Island but the two communities have yet to be reconciled.For instance ,less than 6% of Catholic and Protestant children are educated together.
The proceeds of this dinner will support two major initiatives bringing young people together to build a new Northern Ireland based on acceptance and mutual respect.

The American Ireland Fund’s 31st Annual New York Dinner Gala,will be held at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, on Thursday May 4th 2006.The 2006 Dinner Co-Chairs are John G.Duffy, Chairman and CEO of Keefe Bruyette and Woods,Regina M.Feeney ,Managing Director Goldman Sachs and Co, Brian P. Hull, Senior Vice President,Merrill Lynch and Co, Catherine R.Kinney,President and co-COO of New York Stock Exchange,Inc, Thomas P.O’Neill ,President Financial Institution Division Aegon USA,Inc, Honorary Chairman will be Christopher M. “Kip” Condron, President and CEO of AXA Financial,Inc. The Leslie C.Quick Jr Leadership Award will be given to Robert J.McCann, President Global Private Client Group ,Merrill Lynch Inc.
